This Privacy Policy explains how Flying Fish Anglers Club LLC (DBA Flying Fish Outdoors, “FFO,” “we”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use flyingfishoutdoors.com and our apps (the “Platform”). By using the Platform you agree to this Policy. It works alongside our Terms & Conditions.
You give us: name, email, phone number, password, and profile details when you sign up; payment details you enter at checkout (processed by Stripe — see below); content you submit such as catch reports, photos, videos, messages, and posts; and information experts/captains provide (credentials, boat details).
Collected automatically: device/browser type, IP address, pages viewed, and general usage, via cookies and similar technologies.
Location: if you use the Catch Report feature, we collect precise GPS coordinates only at the moment you submit a report and only with your device’s permission. See Section 5.
To create and manage your account and membership; provide the Platform’s features (expert sessions, boat-trip coordination, Fish Gouge intelligence); process payments and subscriptions; verify identity and prevent fraud; communicate with you (service messages, and marketing you can opt out of); improve the Platform; and comply with law.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with: Stripe (payments, subscriptions, and fraud tools); identity/verification providers we use for Trust & Safety; other members where you choose to interact (e.g., booking an expert or joining a boat trip, and content you post publicly); service providers that host or operate the Platform under confidentiality obligations; and authorities when required by law or to protect safety and rights.
Payments and card storage are handled by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. Stripe’s handling of your payment data is governed by Stripe’s privacy policy.
GPS location is captured only when you submit a Catch Report and requires your device permission; you can decline or disable it. Photos and videos you submit may include metadata. Media and reports you submit may be used and displayed as described in our Terms (Section 19). We are not responsible for GPS accuracy.
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some may affect functionality.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed for legal, tax, dispute-resolution, and fraud-prevention purposes (for example, session chat logs are retained up to 90 days). We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
If you are a California resident, you may request to know what personal information we hold about you, request deletion, request correction, and opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell). We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
The Platform is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
The Platform may link to or embed third-party services (e.g., Windy.com, video hosting, Google sign-in). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
